New Bassist, New Shirts, Same Shambles

Howdy y'all! We have some updates for you on what is shaping up to be a fine Labor Day weekend.

As you may have seen on our social media, we have sent our dear bassist Adam Maloney to the the frigid northern lands of Northwestern University in Chicago to become a classical bass master. Well, we didn't exactly send him there, he earned the spot all on his own, but we did see him off. Adam played our very first show, a battle of the bands at He's Not Here in Chapel Hill way back in 2013. Throughout the years he has been a consistent tour de force (on tour), whether by plucking, slapping, bowing, or hair-flipping. We will miss his exuberance and charm, and we look forward to seeing him as the featured soloist in a world class symphony orchestra someday soon.

Of course as one bassist leaves, another enters. We are thrilled to welcome Butler Knowles to the Shambles family. Butler is a graduate of the jazz program at UNC-Greensboro and is among the finest bassists our state has to offer. He has even subbed for us a few times many years ago, so we're glad to have him full time now. He learned all of the tunes and now we can continue cooking up some new ones!

But that's not all! Have you worn a hole in your favorite Shambles shirt? Left it at a friend's house and never saw it again? Good news, we have two great new options for you to represent your favorite string/horn band. The fantastic design by local artist Max Huffman depicts our fearless rooster being fitted for a handsome new suit by our friend and tailor the goat. We have two types to choose from. Come get one at a show or head to the MERCH tab and we'll pop one in the mail for you.
